Mike Johnson is a Republican representative from Louisiana’s 4th congressional district, which covers the northwest part of the state. He was first elected to Congress in 2016, after serving in the Louisiana House of Representatives from 2015 to 2017
• Mike Johnson is a deputy whip and vice chairman of the House Republican Conference, as well as a former chairman of the Republican Study Committee, a group of conservative lawmakers. He also serves on the House Judiciary Committee and the House Armed Services Committee.
• Mike Johnson is a constitutional lawyer and a staunch defender of religious liberty, free speech, and the rule of law. He has been involved in several high-profile legal cases, such as defending the Pledge of Allegiance, the Ten Commandments, and pro-life legislation.
• Mike Johnson is a vocal supporter of former President Donald Trump and his policies. He voted against certifying the 2020 election results, joined Trump’s impeachment defense team in 2020, and signed an amicus brief in support of a lawsuit that sought to overturn the election outcome. • Mike Johnson has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Louisiana State University and a law degree from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at LSU. He has also been a college professor and a conservative talk radio host
• Mike Johnson is married to Kelly Johnson, a former Miss Louisiana. They have four children: Hannah, Abigail, Jack, and Will. They are members of the First Baptist Church of Bossier City, where Mike Johnson teaches Sunday school.
