Maxwell Frost;
is a 25-year-old politician, activist and musician who is serving as the U.S. representative for Florida’s 10th congressional district since 2023. He is a member of the Democratic Party and the first member of Generation Z to serve in the United States Congress.
• Frost was born to a woman of Lebanese and Argentine descent and a Haitian father, and was adopted by a Cuban-American mother and a musician father from Kansas. He reconnected with his biological mother in 2021.
• Frost has been organizing since around 2012, when he was active with Barack Obama’s presidential campaign. He also volunteered with the Newtown Action Alliance, the American Civil Liberties Union, and March for Our Lives, where he was the national organizing director. He survived an incident of gun violence in 2016.
• Frost announced his candidacy for the Democratic nomination for Florida’s 10th congressional district in August 2021, and won the crowded primary in August 2022, beating several former U.S. representatives and state legislators. He ran on a progressive platform that included Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, and abolishing ICE.
• Frost is currently serving his first term in Congress as the representative of the 10th district of Florida, which covers parts of Orlando and its suburbs. He is a member of the House Committees on Education and Labor, Homeland Security, and Oversight and Reform. He has been vocal on issues such as voting rights, immigration reform, gun violence prevention, climate change, and criminal justice reform.
